It is safe to say that Saint Patrick’s Day is not Saint Patrick’s Day without a glass of Guinness beer. However, for some drinkers such as myself, the brand’s signature dark taste beer might not be for them.
And, I’m not alone. According to a Consumer Edge Insight report, 86 percent of beer consumers seek a cool, crisp flavor when choosing a beer. Guinness recognized this, and created the Guinness Blonde Brew.
This is different than several other flavors in the Guinness line, because it’s simply lighter — in both appearance and taste. Unlike the darker beers, the Guinness Blonde has a crisp amber gold color appearance. Guinness went onto say that it is “twice as smooth and half as bitter” than the original draught.
According an article on the Guinness website entitled “The Story of Guinness Blonde American Lager,” this brew was created to combine “Irish tradition” along with “American spirit,” creating a stout that has “quality, distinctiveness, character.” This beer has exactly that.
And, I mean, this does make sense. After all, many American lagers — such as Corona and Blue Moon — have a lighter appearance, and taste.
But, don’t be fooled. Just because it’s a light brew doesn’t mean that it is not packed with flavor. And, this brew is jam packed with it. Just one sip takes you on a journey down a rabbit hole of bliss with a mix of crisp light floral and citrus flavors.
Having a light brew is beneficial for a number of reasons. For instance, this is beer is perfect to enjoy with a meal — whether it may be a burger or your Saint Patrick’s Day corn beef and cabbage. Or, if Guinness is your go-to choice for beer, but you’re looking for something different to try, this might be the beer for you.
Therefore, get ready for Saint Patrick’s Day by kicking back and enjoying Guinness’ lighter flavor.
