For a long time, it sure seemed like the UConn Mac N Cheese Kid story was a dead horse. A UConn student got drunk and acted like an idiot and the world milked it. We weren’t guilty too, posting a whole six times about him.
But here we are, 10 months after the original incident, still following Luke Gatti’s macaroni-and-cheese-inspired, alcohol-fueled saga of wrong-doing. According to FOX61, Gatti appeared before a judge this week and had his probation revoked. Under the terms of his probation, he could have had the charges against him dropped if he was well-behaved, but he got arrested in Florida in May and was charged with battery of a police officer.
As hilarious as the original story and video were, at this point we’ve got to face the fact that this kid has a real problem. Whether it’s anger management, substance abuse, both, or something else entirely, I don’t know, but he needs some real help. His family needs to take him aside, help him put his life on pause, and address the things that keep leading him astray.
Luke Gatti, we appreciate all the hilariousness you provided (as well as the idea to make some jalapeño-bacon macaroni and cheese at home), but we wish you the best of luck going forward. Hopefully this is the last time we have to write about you.
