Have you ever sat on the Q Bridge and dreamed of doing anything else but sit in traffic? Good, you’re like the rest of Connecticut who’s suffered through this hellhole of a bridge. This Saturday, New Haven is allowing you to finally get a better angle at the construction you’ve been staring at for months.
The re-branded I-95’s Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge in New Haven is throwing a “bridge party” from 10am to 3pm, where you can walk the southbound side of the bridge before it’s open for traffic this fall.
The Connecticut Department of Transportation says there will “family-friendly activities, refreshments, stunning views and great photo opportunities.” They’re also trying to build a positive buzz with the hashtag #IWalkedtheQ. You can follow the amazingly exciting time on Twitter @QBridgeProgram or Facebook.
Most important to note for all the commuters, this bridge isn’t actually opening for traffic this weekend. Just “this fall”. So your absolutely terrible commute will continue on for now.
This guy gets it…
