For those of us who sacrificed something for Lent, allow me to be the bearer of good news. We have officially passed the halfway point!  Soon, we can throw off the shackles of our religious promises and come together for Easter dinner.  Because I am so looking forward to treating myself to one EPIC cocktail.

This year, I gave up booze and swearing.  And the snooze button.  Because I abused that thing more than Donald Trump abuses Caps Lock.

And it STINKS.  I know, in the long haul, I’m better off for it.  But, you know, I’m still gonna complain about it.  Because I also gave up lying.  So there.

Anyways, for those of us who gave up alcohol, I commend you. Seriously. Especially since Lent was a total buzzkill on St. Patrick’s Day.  It is kinda depressing when hanging out with the crew that’s getting obliterated while you’re stuck nursing a virgin Shirley Temple.

So, if you were like me and swore off alcohol, I am positive you’ve been dreaming about what to have for Easter dinner.   Well, I am.  I even have a Pinterest board dedicated to procuring the perfect first post-Lenten cocktail.

It’s almost like I’m  planning a wedding because I am putting way too much thought into this.  I’ll cull drinks left and right based on alcohol content, taste, the glass it’ll come in, and if it’ll match my dress.  There’s so much scrutiny going into this, yet this is the most fun I’ve had since playing donkey polo in Mexico.  It’s like a Darwinian exercise of survival of the booziest and the winner is me.

What can I say, I’m a control freak of a woman who loves her adult beverages.  And Pinterest.

But, if you haven’t put much thought into what you’ll have at Easter dinner, because you’re probably a sane person, allow me to share with you some ace recipes that should whet your appetite.   I mean, unless if you’re planing on pouring yourself the usual, I guess that’s cool too.  Not.

Come on, that’s lame. You’re gonna celebrate making it 40 days without a single drop with the same old same old?  Make your first step back into the party life something to remember.  Make it special!

So, browse through these cocktail recommendations.  Maybe even suggest some of your own.   Secretly, that’s what I’m hoping will happen.
