If you’re still hyperventilating after reading that headline, calm down, because Uber-the car service that’s taken the nation by storm for being easy to use and roughly 7000x’s less gross than a regular cab-isn’t going to be delivering puppies in Connecticut.
That’s not to say it couldn’t end up happening someday, considering that it’s happening right now in Washington, D.C.
The Washington Animal Rescue League is teaming up with Uber and Animal Planet to deliver dogs to your doorstep for a good cause. For just $30, D.C.-area residents can order a dog for 15-minute increments between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. today.
And the best part? All that money is going to a good cause: every dollar is donated directly to the Washington Animal Rescue League, a non-profit animal shelter located in Northwest D.C. An added bonus: each dog is available for adoption.
If you wanted to get in on the puppy delivery, all you’d need to do is open the Uber app between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. and request the “PUPPIES” option in the app. (I’d die, btw)
And again, while this service is unfortunately unavailable in Connecticut, I think we can all get behind something that’s such a great cause, and more importantly, ZOMG! PUPPIES! SO MANY PUPPIES RIGHT AT YOUR DOORSTEP!
