What a month it has been for the country and around the world on so many levels.

One of the most troubling situations is the ongoing horrid acts that have taken place against police in Dallas and now Baton Rouge. Where the very people who work every day to protect us were targeted and gunned down while doing their job.

I imagine that it’s becoming very difficult for police departments around the U.S. to bring in new recruits with these awful stories now becoming a weekly occurrence. Luckily we still have amazing men and women who love what they do, in addition to new generations of people who are more than willing to join the force.

This morning Deputy Chief Brian J. Foley, Chief of Detectives for the Hartford Police Department, tweeted out this moving video of Hartford PD recruits patiently waiting to take their background tests.

Powerful stuff.

Thank you to all the men and women who continue to serve and protect us day and and day out. As well as all the future police officers. Without them none of us would be able to live safely in this great state and country.
