Donut lovers everywhere, I have great news for you. Tomorrow is National Donut Day.
Now, National Donut Day is pretty unique. Unlike some of the other national holidays that have been popping up in recent years, National Donut Day has been around since 1938. According to an article on Fortune entitled National Donut Day Is Friday: Here’s Where to Get a Free One, National Donut Day was established as a way to honor the Salvation Arm Donut Lassies, who served donuts to soldiers during World War I.
What’s awesome about National Donut Day is all of the awesome freebies that are out there. After all, can you think of any way to celebrate other than to get free donuts? I don’t think so.
So, if you’re looking for some freebies tomorrow, here’s where to go. Also, keep in mind that while these chains are giving donuts away, your local donut shop might have a deal as well. Therefore, be sure to check out their social pages to see what kind of promotions they are offering. And, Connecticut has some great ones, including: Neil’s Donuts in Wallingford, the various Donut Crazy locations, Whitney Donut in Hamden, Donut Delight in Stamford and Heavn’ly Donuts in Derby.
