The past few weeks has been especially tough in the music world – Scott Weiland, Lemmy Kilmister, and just last week David Bowie passed away. Late yesterday, we got word that there was yet another added to the list – lead guitarist and founding member of the Eagles, Glenn Frey had passed away at the age of 67.
Glenn had been sick for the past few months, although the severity of his illness was unknown to the general public. Fortunately, he was able to complete one last Eagles tour, which came through Connecticut this past July at the XL Center in Hartford. Here’s Glenn leading the band – and the entire audience – in their final encore of the evening with the Eagles’ first hit song “Take It Easy” (be warned – the video is a bit shaky):
The Eagles still have the record for the biggest concert in Connecticut history, during their 1980 tour when they played to over 70,000 at the Yale Bowl.
Rest In Peace, Glenn
