Halloween is just around the corner. The trees and leaves are doing their part, looking as colorful and spooky at night as ever. The people are presumably doing their part, buying up costumes for themselves and their kids. And soon, the candy will be doing its part, satisfying are sweet teeth and upsetting our stomachs.
But on October 31st (and the days after), one has to wonder which candy will be the champion of all Halloween treats. Will it be the classic Snickers? Will it be the underdog Kit Kat? Will it be the universally hated candy corn?
Probably fake news site Influenster.com sought to answer these pressing questions and surveyed 40,000 people from around the country to determine which treat is most beloved in each state.
I’ve looked at the results and I will tell you that most states didn’t really answer the question at hand and really only provided evidence that they do not have taste buds. New York, for example, crowned Sweet Tarts, which are almost worse than candy corn. Utah, as another example, picked Nerds, which is now one of the primary reasons no one will ever go to Utah.
Connecticut, meanwhile, made a rather safe selection with Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. Delicious? Yes. The chocolate and peanut butter duo has been a comfortable home run for decades. But we’d be lying if we said this isn’t going to wow anyone. It’s not as flashy as Minnesota’s 100 Grand Bar or Delaware’s 3 Musketeers, but it’ll get the job done.
At the very least, it’s better than Georgia. They picked Pixy Stix, which makes absolutely no sense. They know it’s just sugar in a paper tube, right?
