The best thing about fall is the abundance of apple cider and all the lovely varieties it comes in.

But the best of all is the ever-delicious apple cider donut.  Happiness is biting into the slightly crunchy sugary dough and tasting the warm mixture of apples, cinnamon, cloves, and butter.

I mean, if someone told me they don’t enjoy a fresh apple cider donut, we’d never be friends.

But when it comes down to who sells the BEST apple cider donut of all, that’s where the divide begins.  People from every community claim that their local farm reigns supreme, so naturally, websites claiming to have identified the best tend to be met with intense scrutiny.

SpoonUniversity claims to have identified the 5 best apple cider donuts in the northeast and, as expected, Lyman Orchards made the list.

Coming in 4th place, SU wrote

“At 275 years old, Lyman Orchards definitely has the most experience out of these five Northeastern favorites. Covering over 1,000 acres of land, Lyman’s truly is a New Englanders paradise.

Don’t forget to pick up one of their award winning apple pies while you’re in donut heaven.”

Lyman Orchards was the only location in Connecticut to make the list, which is an impressive feat in itself considering the stiff competition every state has to offer.  So, congrats to Lymans for making Connecticut proud and for gifting us with some seasonally appropriate bragging rights!
