In proof yet again that nobody attempts to do more goofy promotional events or stunts like minor league baseball clubs, the much maligned NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams has been offered a job opportunity with the Bridgeport Bluefish.
The Bridgeport Bluefish have offered Williams a paid internship, to help make the time go by while he is suspended from NBC for telling tall tales while covering the Iraq war in 2003.
If Williams were to take the internship (hint: he won’t) he would be paid $500 a month to write game recaps during the 2015 Atlantic League Season.
According to their website, “The Bluefish staff members are huge fans of Williams, and are firm believers in second chances.”
“Our thought is to get Brian’s assistance in writing game reports following any Bluefish losses in 2015,” says Bluefish general manager Jamie Toole. “With his reporting style, we may even win a few of those games.”
