The conundrum of date night is never-ending: Dates are inherently required to be fun and exciting, but nothing that is fun and exciting is also affordable. So you either have a good time and hope kissing your paycheck goodbye means get a different, better kiss later or you spend your evening bored to tears but with the luxury of blowing your nose on all those dolla dolla bills in your pocket.
Well, it seems like Yale University’s Art Gallery was sick and tired of hearing us all groan and moan about this near-constant ordeal, so they teamed up with Beacon Self-Directed Learning to solve the problem for us with a free scavenger hunt.
The scavenger hunt is running all spring and summer long, takes between 1.5 and 2 hours to complete, and is the perfect date night activity. You get to work as a team, you’ll bond over your shared appreciation (or lack of appreciation) of art and culture, and it kills enough time that it feels like you actually did something before hitting the bar, downing some cocktails, and sloppily making out on the way home.
So there you have it: Scavenger hunts? Fun. Free? Awesome. Free scavenger hunts? Awesome fun and problem solved. Happy dating.
